Methods and Madness

Sometimes I paint fast and loose

Other times quite controlled

The subject decides the method

But each work has the same goal:

A painting that is successful

And beautiful to behold!

Reed Envy Musical Instrument Watercolor by Daily Painter Bertie Brown

Reed Envy
original musical instrument watercolor with/horn, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, flute
7" x 11"

Quints Jam
The woodwind Quintet
Is surprised and upset
That a brass French Horn-et
Is allowed on their set
But the French Horn explained
While the Woodwinds complained
That his rich rounded sound
Keeps the Woodwinds anchored down
So they changed all their plans
And that’s how it began
For the “Woodwind Quints Jam”!

Musically Inclined (Brass Trio) Musical Motif Watercolor by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Bertie Brown - Art is Instrumental

Musically Inclined/Brass Trio

original watercolor musical motif/brass: 15" x 17"

menage a trois

if the trombone’s in charge

the trumpet won’t play

the horn won’t say

if he’ll go or stay

such is the way

our world behaves today

compromise is out

dissonance has clout

there could be peace and harmony

‘cause trios can play charming-ly

Musically Inclined (Series) by Bertie Brown

Musically Inclined

Going Solo

The horn stands alone

Neither lost nor forlorn

Just a confident fellow

Shining outside

Inside, mellow.

Its song is melodious

With high notes that soar

But can be quite odious

When notes don’t sound sure

One thing is certain

With a rising stage curtain

The horn likes to play

The solos he’s given

In a most excellent way!
