Welcome

Methods and Madness

Sometimes I paint fast and loose

Other times quite controlled

The subject decides the method

But each work has the same goal:

A painting that is successful

And beautiful to behold!

A View Askew / Mozart's Feast Still Life Watercolors by Bertie Brown

A View Askew
original musical motif drawing w/horn, lamp, crayons: 15" x 15"
Mozart's Musical Feast
original musical motif still life w/horn, violin, Mozart bust: 11" x 15"

back in the day
I remember we played
with marbles and jacks
and baseballs and bats
but sometimes I recall
though I tried hard to stall
I had to apply
my  lip
to the tip
of my tarnished old horn
and try not to sound
too bad or forlorn
much later I found
practice, patience, plus time
would greatly improve
my horn teacher’s mood!
