Methods and Madness

Sometimes I paint fast and loose

Other times quite controlled

The subject decides the method

But each work has the same goal:

A painting that is successful

And beautiful to behold!

Eastern Point Perspectives Rockport Watercolors by Bertie Brown

Eastern Point Prspectives

original watercolor Cape Ann Lighthouse: 10" x 14"

Symphony in Sea Major

Lobster buoys afloat

Lighthouses as beacons

 Decorating the coast

Sublime northern light

Enveloping the sights

While dancing on tides

Tossing boats and floats

From side to side

Cormorants and gulls

Line up on the rocks

By the boats, or the docks

As they noisily wait

For some leftover bait

Granite boulders endure

Protecting the shore

Applauding the sea
BRAVO!

What a glorious symphony!

Boots on th' Ground Sunflower Watercolors by Bertie Brown

Boots on th' Ground

original watercolor sunflower and boots: 10" x 14"

High Maintenance

what ho!

i just want to know

where did the years go

and my body….also

oh

   back in the day

i simply must say

hard work had a way

of  keeping at bay

those inches that stay

in places that…hey!

i don’t like today

i’m feeling betrayed

hence this, my tirade

i cannot evade

old age, i’m afraid

this is my refrain

you’re young…i’ll explain

the fact does remain

it’s HARD to maintain…
