Methods and Madness

Sometimes I paint fast and loose

Other times quite controlled

The subject decides the method

But each work has the same goal:

A painting that is successful

And beautiful to behold!

The Beach House Watercolors by Bertie Brown

                                                            The Beach House
Catching Rays
original watercolor still life: 8" x 11"
Barrier Islands
All bluster and bluff
Defy towering tides
Always in a huff
Waves race toward shore
Biting the beach
With a low rumbling roar
Ever further they reach
The sighing sand dunes
Protecting their turf
As dancing sea grass
Watch over the surf
Their beach bonnets swaying

And “No Trespassing” signs waving
Oh there's nothing so fine
As surf, sand, sunshine
