Are feeling quite spry
As we welcome back spring
On a robin’s sleek wing
The invitation was sent
Mailed out December tenth
For this special event
By that Santa Clause gent(!)
(Seems he was just tryin’
For pleasant sleigh ridin’.....
Didn’t work out
As cold winds and snow
Were bandying about....)
Now it’s suddenly clear
Spring’s arrival is here
And summer and sunflowers
Are hovering near....

Sometimes I find
myself much confined
by ideas gone wrong
what took me so long
to finally say
that’s enough now, okay...
but
sometimes it’s fun
to do more than one
‘cause maybe I’ll learn
to slightly discern
the good and the bad
to discount a fad
and find that rare link
that was missing, I think......

Remember in school
we learned the rule
that there were cliques
a specialty list
of kids way cool
though we weren’t fools
our own gene pools
just did not rule
we weren’t as blessed
our confidence less
we weren’t sure why
and could not guess
and now these guys
in their own eyes
just know they'd be
the pop-ular kids, indeed!
