what ho

I just want to know

who’s lying in that manger bed

with a stable roof o’er His head

and why are there reindeer 

flying in the night sky

with a guy in a sleigh 

following close behind

And

there’s a tree in our house

with packages strewn about

that I’m not s’posed to touch

and there seems to be such

a decorating fuss

it’s confusing, you know

for a three year old, so

I’ll just ask BB

I’m hoping that she

can explain it to me!

that trusty old ass

tramps over the grass

as golden sun rays

dance through these cool days

I’m happy it shines

on your plants and mine

though we’re all confined

by our northeast clime

this season’s not bad

I hasten to add

but we both agree

that donkey and me

we’ll miss these cool temps

as winter comes next....

what’s this all about

does one item go

with another, I doubt

but maybe you can

explain it to me

so I’ll understand

the idea, you see

well, BB said

sometimes I must pause

when thoughts in my head

have a conflicting clause

so rather than try

to struggle about

I do not ask why

I just paint it out

it’s a puzzle indeed

but maybe that’s good

‘cause you get to see

whatever you please!

in a bottle that's new

a napkin or two

and Salem Witch balls

in colorful hues

So if you’ve got time

and paint, any kind

( you could borrow mine)

and looks so sublime

myself in a bind

of ideas gone wrong

what took me so long

to finally say

that’s enough, okay...

but 

sometimes it’s fun

to do more than one

‘cause maybe I learn

to finally discern

the good and the bad

to discount a fad

and find that rare link

that was missing, I think......
