Endless Summer Watercolors by Bertie Brown

Endless Summer

original watercolor still life w/hydrangia: 15" x 15"

a bevy of bees

sip nectar, sneak about

balletic butterflies

nibble coyly, wings spread out

we’re down in the ‘hood’
the ambience, good
we all share this space
extolling its grace
but finches, those grinches
just don’t play the game
they swoop in a fury
causing many to scurry
the petals they strip
snip nip and rip
the shells from the seeds
they spit at my feet
fine-ly they flee
those snippy birdies
and all of us "B"s
are grateful returnees
it all happens here
this summer fiesta
at BB’s Belly deli
my haven of resta!

Merry Go Round Still Life Drawings by Bertie Brown

Merry Go Round

original drawing w/glass greenware

SUMMER DATE

how i hate

all this wait-

ing it must cease

and desist

right this minute

i insist

go away

please don’t stay

 make your exit

from the stage

while you may

in a good way

for you know you are not wanted

and we all have been so haunted.....

by all your boorish-ly arctic taunts

come here straight

don’t be late

pack your bags, HASTE

take a plane

not a train

or the highway

i beseech

and entreat

please do hurry

to my doorstep

you simply must scurry

i do need you more than ever

would you hasten to endeavor.....

and bring your sunshiny ways to me

winter GO

 spring is so

ambigue-oh

summer come

with your fun

in the sun

oh

we will be

final-ly

warm and cozy

oceanside

 under skies

blue and kind-

ly

if it’s not too much to ask you

will you stay until the next June.....

2015

 would that suit you???

Summer

PLEASE do indeed

come see about ME!
