BlueVelvet Watercolors by Bertie Brown

BlueVelvet

original watercolor bluebird: 8" x 10"

there’s rhythm ’n blues

and this bluebird knows

there’s cash to be passed

for this pic under wraps

so here’s to his fans

and the money they hand

to the painter

at her stand

she’s gonna be glad

Good Vibrations

I love the way

on a late August day

 the sun reaches down

to gather around

my sunflower girls

with their gold-yellow curls

and their skirts made of leaves

swaying in the breeze...

The birds of the air

and the insects working there

create a vibration

a vibrato celebration

as they all harmonize

their praise to the skies...

I’m thankful to be

by this shimmering sea

and grateful to hear

this music of the spheres

Bluebird of Happy*ness Watercolors by Bertie Brown

Bluebird of Happy*ness

original watercolor blubird: 8" x 10"

spring is a tease

don’t flatter her please

‘cause she’s such a flirt

in her daffodil skirt

oh some days she’s warm

and sweet, that’s for sure

while other days roar

with cold winds ’n storms

so face it, we’re not friends

and i do wish she’d end

‘cause i’m in the mood

for a summer long June

Fine Whine

my sister says

you are gonna get it

my sister says

 you get a weather credit

my sister says

when this winter has been bedded

and the spring is this way headed

it will be so fine

the temps so kind you’ll  renounce all your whine..
