Methods and Madness

Sometimes I paint fast and loose

Other times quite controlled

The subject decides the method

But each work has the same goal:

A painting that is successful

And beautiful to behold!

Pat's Pup Watercolors by Bertie Brown

Look Out Puppy
original watercolor pet portrait: 7" x 10"

this winter’s exhalin
 cold winds that are wailin
but Nell's furry coat
will warm her like toast
oh
 the call of the wild
and freedom suits her style
but when winter’s seethin
and heat she is needin
a sun dappled rug
will keep this pup snug

  1. Bertie, your paintings are delightful! The colors and the easy looseness are so happy. I love your dogs and cats, your cheerful poppies, the musical themes. And then there’s poetry too! And music! Your days must be filled with such an overflow of creativity. What fun. Now you’re taking up the new endeavor of the ukulele (surely way easier than French horn). Bravo! Pat (from UU)
