Sophie and Me
I remember the day
when Sophie was a babe
I imagined that we'd
be best friends indeed
she’d be seven, maybe eight
and I‘d be...
well, older, you see
on an ordinary day
I saw us this way:
painting trumpets
horns and ‘bones
with bright colors
hues and tones
wearing paint stained artsy shirts
laughing while we did our work
eating crumpets
drinking tea
dressing dollies in pink jeans
we’d sing and laugh a lot
have long talks
as we walked
while my poems said all that
Sophie grew and that’s a fact
now we really have those talks
as we take our little walks
and we really paint and draw
thats what we like most of all
and we def’nitely agree
BFFs, we’ll always be!
