Methods and Madness

Sometimes I paint fast and loose

Other times quite controlled

The subject decides the method

But each work has the same goal:

A painting that is successful

And beautiful to behold!

Playin' Around Musical Motif Watercolors by Bertie Brown

Playin' Around
original watercolor musical motif w/violin: 15" x 18"

is Wagner's violin
tuned to play his Lohengrin?
could a horn that's far too small
belt out Siegfried’s famous call?
did he ever fret or worry
that his music wouldn’t curry
to his benefactors’ whims
casting poverty on him?
could it be, heavens no
I don’t think that it was so
though he surely had some strife
in his many storied life
