Poppy Pageant
original watercolor poppies: 10" x 15"
PoppyPageant
more red-haired girls
than we’d hoped for or imagined
it looks just like
a beauty pageant!
Sophie and I, artistic hosses
are painting their portraits
till our poppy bosses
are simply long stems
with great petal losses!
we’ve less than a week
to get the job done
we’re hoping for good weather
with plenty of sun!

Poppies on the Pike
original watercolor poppies: 8" x 10"
Poppies
Curvaceous long legs
Popping up from their beds
With ruffled petticoats flouncing
Such perky orange heads!
They do the Pizzicato Polka
It’s the right dance for them
As they twirl and spin around
On those long and curvy stems!

Pastor Mike
original watercolor portrait: 8" x 10"
so this is the question
can i toss intention
and renounce all strife
at this stage of life?
could i, if you please,
watch daytime tv
munch crackers and brie
sip lattes 'n tea
would i, do you see,
be happy with ease??
seems i have this need
and create-tivity
to paint day by day
thie stuff that i see

Lionized
original watercolor dandelions: 10" x 14"
I think that it’s done
and I had some fun
‘though there a few
solutions that skewed
my original view
and managed to be
surprising, you see
so now I don’t know
if it’s fit to show
if not,
you’ve just got
to tell me to Stop!

original watercolor w/violin, oranges : 12" x 15"
it’s relative-ly
a new work, you see
with something that’s old
a shape big and bold
and some that are new
with int’resting hues
borrowed from yet
a past series set
hmmm...
it’s deja vu
for those orange and blues!

GoodGollyMissMolly
original watercolor pet portrait: 8" x 10"
Molly likes art
that’s easy to see
she’s ready to start
her own gallery
she’ll feature just me
‘cause she knows the drill
she likes her treats
and i pay the bill
