but

if i do not learn

from my past mistakes

i thwart all the grace

and just run in place

yet

there is a rock

and a mercy seat

where grace is revealed

in humility

now

this cornerstone

it beckons to me

i kneel myself down

and freely receive

warmed by the stove

of her treasure trove

it’s FREEZIN’ outside

‘cause what is it now

‘bout 20 below??

we don’t have enough

closets of coats

to keep out the chill

of this winter’s huff

and wind, I declare

is pushin’ the bounds

of stayin’ beyond

good manners, I swear!

so Sophie and I

surrender, okay?

we’re takin’ a break

from runnin’ out there

it's time to create

our still life's set up

we sit side by side 

we're ready to paint!
